CPRAM awards three scholarships in 2020
College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) is pleased to announce the three $1,250 scholarship winners for the 2020-21 academic year.
Students applying for the CPRAM (College Public Relations Association of Mississippi) scholarship must be majoring in one of the following fields of study: public relations, communications, journalism, advertising, mass communications, political communications, crisis management, graphic design or other communication-oriented major. The scholarships could be awarded to a May 2020 high school graduate, a student entering or enrolled at the state’s two-year colleges and to a student entering or enrolled at the state’s four-year colleges. The student must also be enrolled full-time.
Travis Coopwood, a graduating senior from Bayou Academy, received the May 2020 Graduate scholarship, which is the first for this category. Coopwood will be attending the University of Mississippi, where she will major in Integrated Marketing Communications and is a Cleveland native.
Sophia Meruvia, who is currently attending the University of Mississippi, received one of the 4-year college and university scholarships. Meruvia is an Integrated Marketing Communications major and is a Philadelphia native.
Levell Williams, who is currently attending Tougaloo College, received another 4-year college and university scholarship. Williams is a Mass Communications major and is a Madison native.
The CPRAM Scholarship Committee did not have a qualifying two-year application this year so the committee decided to award the second scholarship to a four-year college/university applicant.
“We had outstanding applications for this year’s scholarships,” CPRAM Scholarship Chairman Steve Diffey of Holmes Community College said. “These young people will definitely leave a mark in their fields in the coming years. We want to thank all of the ones who applied and encourage them to apply next year.”
The application process for the 2021-22 will open in December 2020 and will close in February.
